Soil Superheroes
In North Fairview, just off I-84 East at the Blue Lake National Discovery, you and the family can learn the quirky workings of the world around us. Find out how worms help plants thrive, how fungi can fertilize soil and how other wild creatures can help your garden flourish! The kids can go digging in a worm bin, find “fossils” and make a soil superhero bookmark or other soil crafts. Free with $5 per vehicle ($7 per bus) fee; free for bicycles and pedestrians. Get Outdoors Day and Brigade Encampment
In honor of Get Outdoors Day, the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site will be hosting a celebratory event that promotes health, staying active and pure outdoor joy! Some of the fun activities they have planned are rock climbing, a Find Your Park challenge, a bicycle course and much more. This history demonstration gives visitors a chance to learn about the rugged lifestyles of our ancestors past. Free, nps.gov

Free Family Day
It is time to celebrate the summers of the past at the Washington Country Museum in Hillsboro. The event will let the kiddos play with pioneer toys, explore the museum in a game of clues and even make their own toy to take home! Free, washingtoncountymuseum.org

Suit up and save the world: Stories, songs and puppets
Join Rick Huddle and family for a funny, poignant show that reveals the superhero inside us all at the Portland Children’s Museum. Festival for Oregon Craft Brews
The 5th Annual Berries, Brews, & BBQ’s Festival for Oregon Craft Brews & Barbecue is going down in St. Paul (about 30-45 minutes southwest of Portland). Oregon’s best craft brewers will be featuring their most popular concoctions and there is a plethora of activities for the young ones, such as picking strawberries, petting farm animals and a tube slide! The Stomptowners Irish Sunday
Join The Stomptowners for an action packed Irish Sunday at the O’Neill Pub in NE Portland. The event will showcase Irish tunes, dance and summer themed songs with Preston on the pipes!
