Cider Fest

We all know about farm-to-table fare, but what about orchard-to-glass cider?? This weekend, EastBurn is hosting Cider Fest, where you can start your holiday celebration a little early (and get some ideas on what to stock your fridge with!). Cider seems to be a specialty of the Pacific Northwest, and at Cider Fest you’ll have the privilege of tasting ciders from the 15 best cider houses in the region. Entry is free, but if you want the full experience, you might consider purchasing a custom Cider Fest glass for $10, which includes 5 tasting tickets. Cider Fest is also a benefit for Toys for Tots, so please bring an unwrapped toy to donate. Event is all-ages until 9 pm. Free, $10 for glass/5 tickets, eastburn.pagecloud.com

Christmas Ship Parade Captains Meet & Greet

Do you know a little kiddo who just goes nuts for anything nautical? Are they totally dazzled by the majestic ships all lit up on parade? Then you’ll get to see them really light up when they get a chance to meet the captains of these ships face-to-face and see their watercraft up close. Saturday and Sunday, the entire fleet will dock at the public dock near RiverPlace Marina (entrance to the dock is in front of Three Degrees Restaurant). The ships will gather on Saturday from 8-10 pm following their parade to Lake Oswego, and Sunday from 2-5 pm before they embark on their final parade toward the St. John’s Bridge. Chat about the parade, and don’t hesitate to ask if you’re interested in joining! Free, christmasships.org
