Oregon State Fair

This Friday kicks off the 2017 Oregon State Fair in Salem! The fair will run through September 4th, so you have two full weekends to make it there. This year’s program will continue to serve up big screams with more than 50 thrilling carnival rides. The annual attractions are also back – street performers, horse competitions, canine agility tests, world reptiles, nightly laser show, and much more. Friday and Saturday, 10am-11pm and Sunday, 10am-10pm, free. oregonstatefair.org

Faerieworlds

In its 16h year of providing music and art based entertainment, Faerieworlds comes to Horning’s Hideout, the Portland area’s most beautiful and celebrated outdoor venue, for three days of extraordinary live music and performance, amazing art and crafts, and fantasy fun for the whole family. Aug 25th

Junior Ranger Day

Bring your 6-12 year-old kiddos to Fort Vancouver on Friday to celebrate the 101st birthday of the National Park Service! Kids will work on a special activity booklet to help them learn about the history of the Hudson’s Bay Company’s fur trade fort, then be “sworn in” as Junior Rangers and receive badges. 10am-2pm, free. nps.gov

Portland Train Rides

Bring your little conductors to SE Portland on Saturday for a 45 minute ride! Trains depart the Oregon Rail Heritage Center Museum, located at 2250 SE Water Ave, Portland, Oregon at 12:30 pm, 1:30 pm, 2:3 0pm, 3:30 pm and 4:30 pm. Trains depart near Oaks Amusement Park (across from the main entrance) located at 7805 SE Oaks Park Way, Portland, Oregon at 1 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm and 5 pm. $5 per passenger under 12; $10 per passenger 13 and older; $10 12 and under to ride in cab; $20 13 and older in cab. portlandtrainrides.com

 

Aug 27th

Fan Appreciation Night at the Hillsboro Hops

Watch the Hops take on the Tri-City Devils at their annual Fan Appreciation Night! Fans will receive a 2017 Team photo at the gates and select players will be signing autographs on the concourse before the game begins! 4pm-7pm, ticket prices vary. milb.com
