SING-A-ALONG SOUND OF MUSIC

 

The thrilling interactive musical phenomenon, SING-A-LONG SOUND OF MUSIC, returns to Portland for eight full performances at Cinema 21 beginning April 15th! The von Trapps, who happen to be the actual grandchildren of the family depicted in the film, will provide a special appearance at performances on April 24, 30 and May 1. Family Fun Day at Unplugged Games

 

Whether your families like classic board games, card games or is looking for something new and enticing, look no further! Unplugged Games has lots of great ideas on Saturdays from 12-5pm for Family Fun Day, a free weekly event dedicated putting down the electronics and picking up new memories with family and friends.  Try one of the games from our library, or bring one from home to play with new friends.  See a new game you want to learn?  Our staff will teach you! Junior Ranger Day!

In honor of National Park Week, the Junior Ranger Day is hosting a celebration at your local national park. The event will offer kid-friendly activities at Pearson Air Museum and historic demonstrations at Fort Vancouver. Kids who complete one (or both!) of the park’s themed Junior Ranger booklets will be officially “sworn in” and receive their Junior Ranger badges. The program is designed for children ages 6 to 12, but younger children can complete it with help and anyone else who wants to is encouraged to participate. Free, nps.gov

Plant for the Planet Academy

Since 2007, Plant for the Planet has empowered more than 36,000 children to take a stand with Climate Change through planting trees and getting adults to act. The program has been training children and teens to become more involved with Climate Justice by learning skills such as the science of Climate Change and Recovery, how to plant trees and organize planting parties and how to make effective presentation to influence policy. Dance Party for Kids

The Schnitzer is known for some awesome dance-themed concerts for the adults, but why should they get all the fun?
