This coming Thursday, October 4, is Read for the Record day.  The most important thing adults can do to help children be academically prepared for kindergarten is to read to them.  Read for the Record aims to raise awareness of early literacy by having a record number of adults reading simultaneously to children throughout the United States. This year’s book, “Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad,” is available for free at www.wegivebooks.com. It can be read on almost any electronic platform – without needing to sign in or provide any personal information. I encourage all of you to take the time to read to your children on Thursday, and every day.
