July 4th Celebration and Fireworks Guide
June gloom be darned, Portland is ready for some BBQ, river floating, and all-American fireworks. Here are the best spots to revel in some serious Americana and view this Independence Day’s aerial jubilees.

Corbett Fun Fest
Just east of Portland proper you can catch not just fireworks, but also live music, a myriad of vendors and a hometown parade complete with the Queen and her court.

Fort Vancouver
Take a quick trip over the Columbia River and you’ll find yourself at historic Fort Vancouver. Rubbing shoulders with Washingtonians – what an appropriate way to spend Independence Day!

Oaks Park
The venerable amusement park hosts a legendary fireworks show which you can view while you spin yourself silly on the park’s rides (which will be running well into the night)!

St. Paul Rodeo
It’s never too hot for cowboy boots. If you don’t believe me, ask a cowboy yourself at the St Paul Rodeo just west of Portland proper. Bonus points if you ask them under a sky full of dazzling fireworks.

Waterfront Blues Festival
Yearly, Portlanders gather at their respective waterfronts to gawk at the Waterfront Blues Fest’s fireworks spectacular. Sure, you can invest in a ticket to the fest, but it’s also perfectly acceptable to simply find a comfortable place along the central waterfront to simply stand (or sit, or lounge) and check out the light show.

West Linn Star Spangled 4th of July Celebration
Celebrate the fourth at this family-friendly and proudly patriotic Independence Day event at Willamette Park in lovely West Linn. Featuring live music, speeches from local politicians, and a plenty of food, drinks, and fun.

Heartbeat Silent Disco “Tilikum Dance With Us”
Portlandia’s newest bridge is home to a very Portland event – a “silent dance party” where for a small fee, you rent a pair of headphones and dance the night away with hundreds of other ear-canned PDXers while fireworks burst overhead.

The Portland Pickles at Lents Park
Our hometown baseball heroes, The Portland Pickles, play the Perth Heat at 1:05 p.m. and the Medford Rogues at 7:05 p.m. The Pickles fans will then be treated to a fireworks dance party! Pickle costumes encouraged but not required.

Lake Oswego Star Spangled Parade and Celebration
Millennium Park in Lake O’ will host not just a fireworks display but also a parade, a pie eating contest, face painting and all manner of summer fun festivities. The fireworks are best viewed from Lake Grove Swim Park.

The Molalla Buckaroo
Celebrate America’s independence in true Americana fashion – at the gosh darn rodeo. Molalla’s world famous rodeo includes bareback riding, bull riding, steer wrestling plus two parades and live music.
