Guide to Camps & Classes During PPS Strike
Amidst the strike in the Portland Public School District, many parents are faced with the challenge of securing childcare or engaging activities while they attend work. We’ve curated a selection of local businesses providing camps and classes to assist families during this period.

Baxter Sports Camp
All Sports Camp located inside Oregon Premier Futsal featuring kids’ favorite games: basketball, dodgeball, futsal, volleyball, pickle ball, capture the flag, and kickball as well as opportunities for reading or other schoolwork. Drop-in options
BB Camp
Join BB Camp for camp-style programs including Music, Art, Cooking, Jewish Enrichment, Outdoor Play and many more activities! WHO: For K-8th Graders WHEN: Drop off 8:00-8:30am | Pick up 3:30-4:00pm WHERE: Congregation Neveh Shalom (SW Portland)
Electronic Music Club
A mix of our regular camp and after-school enrichment programming such as music production and creating music music, along with outdoor activities, games, crafts and more!
Friends of Tryon Creek
Friends of Tryon Creek is offering day camp on November 13th, 14th and 15th. Fun outdoor adventures, hiking, fort building, arts and crafts at Tryon Creek State Natural Area in SW Portland. Open for grades 1st-5th from 8:30am – 3:30pm. Fee is $110.
My Voice Music
Music Exploration Sessions at MVM Studios (8911 SE Stark) for youth ages 9-13 include basic instruction and exploration of guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, songwriting, beat making, and recording on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays.
NW Dance Project
NW Dance Project is offering a variety of dance classes and activities to keep students moving and engaged during the PPS strike. Each day will include stretch/yoga time, ballet basics, creative movement, dance creation, story/quiet time, and more!
One River School of Art and Design
Tiny Dessert Art Clay Sculpture Get ready for a super sweet adventure at our art workshop where you can make tiny desserts out of magical clay! You’ll learn the coolest tricks to sculpt mini cupcakes, donuts, and more!
Portland Audubon
Join Portland Audubon for No School Camp adventures in our beautiful 150-acre Nature Sanctuary! Campers will explore animal ecology, learn how creatures survive in winter, craft nature-inspired masterpieces, and much more!

Trackers Earth
Join Trackers Earth for no-school camps whenever PPS is closed. Basecamp (onsite) and Adventure (outdoors) programs for every kid. Archery, martial arts, wilderness survival, farms, role-playing games, arts, crafts and blacksmithing. Grades K-12.
