ACTIVITIES FOR THIS WEEK
FLICK 5
Each player or team receives 2 pizza pans (or anything like that) and 5 ping pong balls. 1 player at a time has to run up to pizza pan 1 (5-10 feet from the start) and flick their 5 ping pong balls onto the 2nd pizza pan one at a time. This is done typically with one’s index finger. Keep repeating this until all 5 make it onto pan #2, without rolling off. A lot of running, crouching down, standing back up, use of precision and fun. Game 2 has them using their weaker hand to challenge them differently.
52 PICK UP
Set up a square grid. The corners are marked by a cone, a spot, a chair, or chalk marks. Put 1 deck of cards in the middle of the playing area. Make the square as large or small as you want. Each player picks a corner has their home base. At go, all players run around the corners of the square, and when they get back to their home base, they then run to the middle of the square, grab a playing card, run back to their home base…and repeat! At the end of the race, the player with the most cards wins. 2nd Option: Skipping instead of running.
RALLY IT UP
2 partners and 1 balloon. Draw a line between the partners, or use a rope or something similar. How many times can they bat the balloon back and forth without it touching the ground? If it hits the ground, they start from 0. At first, each player can hit the balloon twice to get it across the line. Later on, limit them to one hit only to get it across the line. Another Option: Have them use their weaker hands, or maybe only their feet, head, etc., but not their hands. Last, if you have anything like a fly swatter, use them to hit the balloons!
