This Sunday, June 17th is Father’s Day. If you don’t already have plans to celebrate dad, here are a few ideas for getting out and having fun with your family, and surefire ways to let dad know how much you appreciate him.
EAT
Start the day with dad and the kids while making pancakes right at your own table at Slappycakes.
Send dad to the Spirit of ’77 for a couple of hours to enjoy some sloppy, better than pub food, and the opportunity to catch up on game three of the NBA playoffs. Double Mountain BBQ at 2 pm.
OUTING
Take dad to Mt. Hood and enjoy lunch with the family in a gorgeous setting on the Cascade Streamwatch Trail. Check out the salmon viewing window. Wildwood Recreation Site.
Pack a picnic and head South to Silver Falls. Don’t miss the 25 miles of trails and 10 beautiful water falls.
Get out on the Willamette or the Columbia rivers and celebrate with brunch and a boat ride aboard the Portland Spirit or the Sternwheeler.
Take a leisurely ride with dad and check out some homemade ice cream on the annual Ice Creamery Tour. Pedalpalooza 2012.
GROOM & PAMPER
Treat dad to a Modern Cut, Classic Straight Razor Shave and a whisky filled tumbler at The Modern Man off Alberta street.
Head to McMenamins Kennedy School with the family for a soak and a pint.
Up dad’s cool factor by giving him the gift of a tattoo, if he’s into that sort of thing. Check out TigerLily Tattoo or head on over to the gals at Icon Tattoo for all dad’s tattooing needs.
