Creative Ways to Celebrate Kids’ Birthdays During Quarantine
Traditional birthday parties are on hold during these unprecedented quarantine times, but we have some creative ways to make your child’s birthday special…and memorable! They’ll never forget their quarantine birthday!
Family Camp Out or Slumber Party
Set up a tent in the backyard, or blanket fort in the family room. Make s’mores outside on the bbq or outdoor firepit, or in the oven/toaster. Sing camp songs, tell stories.
Scavenger Hunt
Create clues and send your child on a hunt for birthday gifts or other items around the house or outside
Bake or Cook Together
Bake a cake or special dessert, along with your child’s favorite meal.
Decorate
When your child goes to sleep the evening before the big day, decorate your living space! Make your own decorations or pull out your holiday stockpile! Think Christmas string lights, Valentine’s Day hearts, etc. Get creative!
Create an Obstacle Course
Come up with a creative course throughout your home or outside using masking tape, string, chalk, etc. Get creative, as this is an opportunity to also get them tired!
Zoom Call with Family and Friends
Have participants dress up in your child’s favorite color, have them wear birthday hats…be creative! Sing Happy Birthday, read a story…the options are endless!
Car Parade
Everyone loves a parade! Enlist family & friends to drive by in the cars at a specific time with signs/banners. Have them blast your child’s favorite music!
