Pete The Cat Cover

Pete the Cat: The Wheels on the Bus, by Eric Litwin, (picture book, $9.99)

Pete the Cat is back in a groovy new adventure to the tune of everyone’s favorite, “Wheels on the Bus.” Great for a story-time or sing-along, kids will love beeping along with the horn on the bus, swishing along with the windshield wipers on the bus, and meowing along with the cats (yes, cats!) on the bus.

Oliver & His Alligator Cover

Oliver and His Alligator, by Paul Schmid, (picture book, $15.99)

Oliver decides to bring an alligator with him to ‘munch, munch,’ up all the things that are too scary, or new, or loud, or hard about his first day of Kindergarten. Unfortunately, he learns that school just isn’t the same without all those new things the alligator wants to munch. In fact, it’s downright lonely. Kids (and grown-ups alike) will be able to relate to Oliver and this sweet lesson in bravery.

 I Scream Ice Cream

I Scream! Ice Cream! A Book of Wordles, by Amy Krouse Rosenthal, (picture book, $16.99)

What’s better than a family affair? A family of hair, of course! Even grown ups will love this outrageously funny new picture book full of “wordless”, phrases that sound alike but have nothing else in common. With fun, sketchy illustrations by Serge Bloch, this new book of wordplay is just perfect for the “tie knee purse on” in your life.

 Life of Ty

The Life of Ty: Penguin Problems, by Lauren Myracle, (chapter book, $12.99)

Being seven is tough, even tougher if you’re Ty Perry. He has a new baby sister who takes up all of his Mom’s time, his big sister’s cat is definitely out to get him, and his class trip to the aquarium is sure to be a complete disaster. Luckily, Ty is full of schemes and ideas, and kids will love rooting for this plucky, big-hearted 3rd grader.
